Washington, DC was rocked yesterday by the numerous startling revelations that were made in Mark Wolff’s new book. The book contains plenty of salacious gossip but it also mentions this interesting nugget on Trump-Russia:
BREAKING NEWS: Trump Spokesman Mark Corallo Quit in July 2017 Because He Believed Trump Committed a Crime—Obstruction of Justice—Aboard Air Force One https://t.co/HyE4EU7ygR— Seth Abramson (@SethAbramson) January 3, 2018
This is interesting because not only is Mark Corallo a long time conservative who served as chief spokesman for Attorney General John Ashcroft, but he and Barbara Comstock are also former business partners. The two of them formed Corallo Comstock in 2006 for the purpose of defending corrupt politicians. Corallo proudly told Roll Call that they were setting up shop “Just in time for subpoena season.”
According to Wolff, Corallo quit his job as spokesperson for Trump’s legal team after he became convinced that Trump had committed obstruction of justice.
“Mark Corallo was instructed not to speak to the press, indeed not to even answer his phone. Later that week, Corallo, seeing no good outcome-and privately confiding that he believed the meeting on Air Force One represented a likely obstruction of justice-quit. (The Jarvanka side would put it out that Corallo was fired.)”
Since Corallo and Comstock both worked at the DOJ and also defended Scooter Libby, they are quite familiar with obstruction of justice as well as treason.
It’s already too late for Comstock to save her election chances but she needs to follow the lead of her former business partner and get off the Trump Train before it’s too late for the country.
