Thank you for contacting me regarding immigration reform. 1 appreciate you taking the time to share your views with me.
Most Americans understand that our immigration system is broken. We are a welcoming nation, and we are also a nation of laws. I believe immigration reform must be done piece-by- piece, beginning with strong border security measures. We also need to enforce the laws that are already on the books. When it is easier for an individual to enter the country illegally than to seek legal means of immigration, we can clearly see a systemic problem that is not fair. Our laws need to reward those who follow the law and come here to seek the American dream. As we work towards addressing immigration issues in the 115th Congress, please rest assured that I will keep your views in mind.
