Thank you for contacting me about the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). I appreciate you taking the time to share your views with me.
You may be interested to know that I recently joined my colleagues in signing a bipartisan letter urging the Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee to provide robust resources for the LWCF. As you may know, the LWCF was established in 1964 to help support our parks, historic sites, recreation, hunting and fishing, and natural areas. The LWCF provides matching hinds to support numerous state park and recreation projects in thousands of communities in every state in the nation, including many located in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. In every state, LWCF resources ensure that all Americans reap the benefits of access to outdoor recreation, unique historic sites, clean water, and protected wildlife. As a member of the Congressional Land Conservation Caucus, I and my colleagues urge a prompt resumption of resources to this important program in the aftermath of its expiration.
